This is the homepage of the Directorate-General
concerned with public health. It will accesses all
subjects relevant to the European Commission on public
health. On the site you will find a wide variety of
subject areas and the Commission policies on e.g. health
promotion; food quality in Europe; AIDS and other
communicable diseases etc.
The
European Agency for the evaluation of Medicinal Products
The EAMP works for the protection and promotion of
public and animal health by mobilising scientific
resources throughout the EU, controls the European
marketing authorisation on new medical products and
controlling the safety of medicines for human and animals.
It is the focal point of the European system ,
co-ordinating the scientific resources made available by
the Member State national authorities.
The
European Agency for Safety and Health at Work
The Agency has been set up by the European Union in
order to serve the information needs of people with an
interest in occupational safety and health.
Committee
on the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Policy
This is the European Parliament’ committee working
with any issues related to public health.

Health Forum Gastein
The main objective of the EHFG is to facilitate the
establishment of a framework for advising and developing
European health policy while recognising the importance of
national and regional authorities and decision-making
bodies.It adresses all stakeholders in the field of public
health and health care.
European Social Partners within the Hospital Sector
EPSU
The European Federation of Public Service Unions
assembles employees in the public sector at European level.
One of its committees - Social and health services – is
focussed on issues related to public health from the
employees point of view.
CEMR
Counsil of European Municipalities and Regions brings
together more than 100 000 local and regional authorities
in Europe, federated through 42 large national
associations of local and regional authorities in 29
countries. In public health CEMR works closely with EPSU
an matters of common interest.

European Centre of Enterprises with Public
Participation and of Enterprises of General Economic
Interest represents a wide range of government bodies and
state owned companies taking on the responsibility of
employer.
PSI
The international trade union federation Public
Services International unites public sector workers in
more than 500 trade unions in over 140 countries.

supports and promotes evidence-based health policy-making
through comprehensive and rigorous analysis of the
dynamics of health care systems in Europe.

Health Organization
The objective of WHO is the attainment by all peoples
of the highest possible level of health. WHO is involved
in a wide range of activities e.g. to act as the directing
and co-ordinating authority on international health work;
to promote technical co-operation; to assist Governments,
upon request, in strengthening health services; to promote
and co-ordinate biomedical and health services research
etc.
